Over the past months I have received casework and messages from constituents regarding the number of face-to-face appointments being offered by their GP. I have written to the Accountable Officer of Bury Clinical Commissioning Group and have previously spoken to him about this issue in our regular meetings. My letter to him is regarding constituents concerns on not receiving face-to-face GP appointments and asking him to meet with me in the coming weeks. to discuss these concerns in more detail.
Our local doctors have done an incredible job throughout the pandemic, and we are lucky to have such a strong team in our area. However, some residents feel strongly about face-to-face GP appointments and are concerned about how few are offered. What we don’t want to see is more people attending A&E at Fairfield than is necessary through not being able to access a face-to-face appointment within an appropriate time scale
I know that this is an issue that many local residents feel strongly about, which is why I am running my GP Appointment Questionnaire, so that you can tell me more about the problems that you have been facing in accessing local healthcare.
This survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete, and I will be feeding back the results during my upcoming meeting with Bury Clinical Commissioning Group, who are responsible for healthcare across Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington.
