- Champion our Green Belt and green spaces, working with communities and residents fighting Labour’s plan to destroy them.
- Drive a “brownfield first” approach to housing, ensuring Bury Council use their share of the £97 million they have received from the Government for brownfield regeneration in our area.
- Minimise flooding of local residents using the over £9 million Bury has received to better improve our flood defences and protect local families and businesses.
We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside which brings so many benefits to residents. We need to protect it, making sure that future generations can enjoy the great outdoors, whilst building the truly affordable starter homes our area needs on brownfield sites.
Together with other Conservative MP’s and Councillors I am campaigning to ensure Bury Council has a Local Plan in place that will allow us to protect precious areas of green belt under threat of development at Elton Reservoir, Tottington and Walshaw. I am working closely with the Secretary of State and Housing Minister to provide further funding to support the redevelopment of brownfield sites to provide the truly affordable housing our area needs. We were successful in lobbying the Government to provide £97 million in funding to Greater Manchester, supporting brownfield remediation.
