- Highlighting your GP concerns – listening to your responses to my GP questionnaire and through casework issues you’ve raised directly with me and reporting to the Secretary of State for Health with my findings.
- Meeting with our GP’s and health officials in Bury to ensure the right support is there to meet demand, and that residents get good value for money from their GP’s.
- Lobbying to increase face-to-face GP appointments in Bury so everyone has access to their GP when they need it.
As part of the wider government investment in healthcare, I’m working to improve local services. Local residents need to access a doctor’s appointment quickly and have access to first class healthcare facilities in our Borough. I want to see more investment at Fairfield Hospital, keeping it at the cutting edge of technology.
I successfully campaigned for a local doctor’s surgery to remain open when threatened with closure by our local CCG.
I am working with regional and national health care leaders to secure further investment into Fairfield Hospital and to ensure that Bury North residents are able to secure an appointment with a GP without unnecessary delays and I’m fighting to provide bespoke medical services, including a SEND Hub and extra mental health provision to support some of the most vulnerable in our community.
I have spoken with the Secretary of State about how the experiences of young people in our area, can improve support services for young people with cancer and other serious conditions. Everyone needs access to the right healthcare when they need it the most.
