Bury is a proud Lancashire town and this week I joined with MP’s from across the historic county including my good friend James Grundy, MP for Leigh to celebrate everything Lancashire.

Today commemorates the day in 1295 when Lancashire first sent representatives to Parliament.

I have started a campaign to save the £62,000 grant the Fusiliers Museum receives from Bury Council. This is a fantastic cultural and historical institution for our town that not only remembers the sacrifice of our armed forces, it is integral to the identity of our town.
