James Daly MP for Bury North has been appointed to new roles within the Government and Conservative Party including, Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of Education, Prime Ministers Trade Envoy to Pakistan and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.
Following his time as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) for the Ministry of Justice, James Daly MP will use his experience of the role to aid him in his new government department as PPS to the Secretary of State of Education.
Parliamentary Private Secretaries are a key link between Minister’s and MP’s when it comes to policy formulation. This unpaid role also includes ensuring Member’s of Parliament can access Ministers to resolve issues relating to education matters within their constituencies.
The Secretary of State is responsible for the work of the Department of Education, including but not limited to: early years and childcare, teacher quality recruitment and retention, school curriculum and higher education.
The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoys are appointed parliamentarians that work within the Department of Business and Trade. Trade Envoys engage with their respective markets where substantial trade and investment opportunities have been identified by the UK Government. This role is unpaid and voluntary.
Mr Daly will use his role as Trade Envoy to Pakistan to support drive for economic growth by building on the UK’s existing relations with Pakistan and help UK businesses take advantage of opportunities arising from them.
The MP for Bury North has also been appointed to the role of Deputy Chairman for the Conservative Party.
