Bury North Member of Parliament, James Daly, is teaming up with the Department for Work and Pensions and community organisations to host a fair on the 16th of March for the benefit of those who are over 50 in the borough.
The free to enter event will be held at the Fusiliers Museum in Bury Town Centre and is open to all over 50s, pensioners, their families, and carers.
The fair will showcase the many organisations and community groups available throughout the borough of Bury, which offer a wide range of activities and voluntary opportunities.
Also in attendance will be local services including Greater Manchester Police, Bury Council and Six Town Housing. Giving those who attend an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns they may have directly with the relevant service.
The Department for Work and Pensions who are co-hosting the fair will be on hand to offer their advice and support for those who are wishing to return to work. There will also be support for anyone who may have an enquiry relating to pensions.
Mr Daly commented ‘I am delighted to be hosting this important event later this month. It will give an opportunity for my constituents over the age of 50 to see the fantastic support available to them and ensure those eligible can access it.’
The Bury North MP added ‘It is vital we recognise with a little extra support older people can live well and provide an outstanding contribution to our community.’
Anyone wishing to attend the fair can visit the Fusiliers Museum throughout the day with the doors opening at 10:30am and last entry at 3pm. There is no need to register in advance, however, if anyone requires any further information, they can contact Mr Daly’s office on 0161 546 0161.
