James Daly MP has sent out an invitation to all the schools in his constituency inviting students to visit the Houses of Parliament.
James Daly, the MP for Bury North has invited students in his constituency for a tour of the Houses of Parliament in the Summer Term. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in Bury North to learn how Parliament works in the UK and learn the history of these memorable buildings.
As part of the tour, students will be able to discover the heritage of these historic buildings as well as learn how the day-to-day workings of Parliament is conducted. Gaining insight into both the construction and timeframe of the buildings as well as getting to see the House of Commons in person.
Commenting on the invite James Daly MP said:
“this is a fantastic opportunity for young people to be able to learn how Parliament functions and get an insight into how I do my job as the MP for Bury North. I really hope schools will take up this offer as this a great chance for their students to gain an understanding of how the UK is run”.
Schools will be able to sign up for a free tour on Wednesday 31st January when the booking slots open at 12:00 noon. Schools in Bury North are also able to claim 50% of their travel costs, up to £1,000, back when they visit Parliament as a school trip.
