I have called on the Chancellor to make sure that hospitality businesses that do not have outdoor space are fully supported in the time between step 2 and 3 of the roadmap to the end of lockdown.
I welcomed the £280 billion of support that this Government has provided and the schemes that are supporting businesses across Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington.
Some councils have had great success with the distribution of Additional Restrictrion Grant funds, others unfortunately have not.
Bury Council holds an estimated £5 million from the ADR Fund, and this should be being used to provide grants to those businesses who are really struggling. We are in the darkest part of lockdown and support is needed now.
We must ensure Councils get the money out now – not save it for a future that some businesses may not see.
