The East Lancashire Railway is home to the oldest locomotive shed in the world that still operates in it's original use at their site at Buckley Wells.
They have plans to restore and expand this important site and create a national centre for the maintenance and restoration of heritage locomotives which will have an important impact on our local economy and I will be supporting them as they seek to acquire the required funds.
Heritage rail is a key part of our culture, heritage and economy and today I spoke about how the ELR does all that for us here in Bury.
