This evening I have spoken in Parliament about culture and the key part it plays in towns such as ours.
Through this pandemic the Culture Recovery Fund has been established by the Government, a £1.57billion fund to tackle the crisis facing our most loved cultural organisations and heritage sites. This has been a lifeline for many organisations here in Bury.
I also took the opportunity to raise the fantastic work of a number of our fantastic cultural and heritage organisations including the East Lancashire Railway, The Met, The Fusilier Museum, Lancashire and the project to renovate the Ramsbottom Co-op Hall.
These organisations have a huge impact on our community and are a key part of our identity.
