Residents across Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington are being asked to give views on their experiences regarding access to face-to-face GP appointments. This follows Bury North MP, James Daly, being contacted by numerous constituents concerned about this important issue.
To ensure as many residents as possible get their say, Mr Daly has invited everyone across Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington to complete his GP Appointment Questionnaire, which can be found online at his website and Facebook page.
Mr Daly has already raised this matter with the Accountable Officer of Bury Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) but feels it is crucial that local health care providers receive a broad cross-section of views from local people outlining their own experiences. He will then feedback on the results of his questionnaire to Bury CCG and local GP practices.
MP for Bury North, James Daly, said:
“Our local doctors have done an incredible job throughout the pandemic, and we are lucky to have such a strong team in our area. However, some residents feel strongly about face-to-face GP appointments and are concerned about how few are offered. What we don’t want to see is more people attending A&E at Fairfield than is necessary through not being able to access a face-to-face appointment within an appropriate time scale.”
“My GP Appointment Questionnaire will look to find out more about these issues and their effect on how residents are accessing health care services within our local area. I reiterate my thanks to all GP’s and their hardworking staff who work so hard for the communities they serve; these are challenging times. They have adapted their services in the best way they can, but it is important that the experiences of patients and their families are fed back to health care professionals.”
“You can access my questionnaire easily on my website. If you have trouble using the internet, please call my office, and someone can help talk you through this survey.”
